The Marwari Vidyalaya Trust was started somewhere around 1902 with the mission of imparting knowledge to Hindi speaking community in the erstwhile Bombay Presidency. Smt. K. G. Mittal Ayurvedic Punarvasu Mahavidyalaya is one of the reputed medical education institutes in the world that imparts medical education to the students at graduate and super-specialty streams under University of Mumbai in Ayurveda faculty. There are many more such knowledge institutes of Mittal Group in India.

The institute is affiliated to University of Mumbai for the MMS Program and is approved by statutory authorities like AICTE, DTE and Government of Maharashtra. The institute has an excellent supporting infrastructure, two state of the art Computer Centres each consisting of 30 workstations with separate internet connectivity through 512 kbps lines, two Reading Halls, a modern Library with over 2200 management reference books and management journals. A Gymnasium, a Seminar Hall, an Audio-Visual Center and a hygienic Cafeteria are also available at the institute. The institute is entering into its second year of establishment from the current academic year 2008-2009.

Rapidly changing international economic environment marked by the process of globalization has activated a greater need for management education for survival and excellence in today’s open society as globalization has created a borderless regime of free trade and transactions based on competition generated through a series of economic reforms towards liberalization. Beginning 1980s, most countries of the world have taken to market mediated economic reforms and liberalization. In India, efforts towards reforms and strong liberalization started only in July 1991 and today’s Indian society and culture is highly influenced by these economic and social changes worldwide.
